Abstract

This research work deals with the implementation of continuous improvement in the area of STM (Microelectronic Technology Systems) in the service company in the electronic manufacturing located in the northwest of the country. The objective of the research is to implement the Kaizen methodology and 5's in the maintenance area, derived from an increase in downtime of 45% since 2015, due to poor organization and classification of tools in the warehouse area. It is proposed to implement, within the 5's methodology, a visual traffic light system (color labeling), to identify the status of feeders (optimal for use or maintenance), inventoried feeders, a preventive maintenance plan and corrective, an automated system for the maintenance area based on a bar code detection system and order, organize and clean the maintenance area. The implementation of these systems had a decrease of 28.32% in downtime, in a total of 5 weeks in which the implementation of the system was compared.
